Easter Update

easternight.jpg

This post is a little late coming but I will feel much better knowing that I didn't just let it fade away into nothing. Here are the things that we made with the church ladies for the Easter craft night. The Easter basket is courtesy of Martha Stewart (a great resource for holiday inspired craft) and the flower pin I have posted about before is courtesy of Mollychicken. Everyone had a great night and loved making both things. We indulged a bit on fabric and chocolate eggs to fill the baskets with, which unfortunately made a big dent in our profits but you live and learn!

The craft fair was the next day and I had high hopes for this one because it was well organised and it was in quite an affluent area. But can you believe I didn't sell one single teeny weeny thing, not a sausage. Very disappointing. Oh well, the problem is with these events you can never tell how they will go.

Down on the Farm

Friday was such a lovely sunny day here. The first one so far. It just instantly uplifts you when you are given a sign that winter has ended and the summer is on its way. My friend Karen invited us to join them on a trip down to the local farm. We have only taken Em to the farm once before and she really didn't like it, but she was a lot younger then. This time, although she was still a little cautious of the animals, especially the big ones, she seemed a lot happier. In fact we ended up spending most of the day there, the time just flew!

We fed the bunnies at feeding time, went on a tractor ride and saw cows and deer, played in the park and had a lovely picnic in the sun. When she asked for a horse ride I could hardly believe it! This was such an improvement. When she got on the horse it was a bit of a mixture of emotions for her, one minute going 'Weeeeeee' and the next saying it was too bumpy and she wanted to get off. But she did really well and kept on talking about that horsey afterwards.

I am really looking forward to the next visit to the farm, we all had such a lovely time.

Having a Break

visiting-mom.jpg

Well you may have noticed the distinct lack of posting around here lately. I have had computer free weeks, let alone computer free days! With sickness coming and going around the family these past few weeks, I have hardly had the energy or motivation to do anything. I was starting to think I might never blog again, or tidy the house, put on make-up or wash any clothes. But I am starting to pick up now thankfully, and I am hoping my normal activities will start flowing again very soon. Thanks for being patient with me, especially for my swap partners, it is truly appreciated.

Last week we visited my mom & stepdad in England for a week. It was so great getting away, even though the flight is less than an hour, just getting on a plane seems liberating somehow, like driving down an open road. It was just good to chill out and see everyone and they really helped me get some much needed rest by taking Emily out, playing and baking cakes. Thanks for everything you two.

Since I have been back I am still finding it hard to get motivated but I have been trying to do a few things. I took Emily on an Easter Egg hunt at the local church. It was very cold and we weren't dressed appropriately (my lack of hunt experiences!), everyone but us had their wellies on! But she managed to find two eggs so the mission was successful, albeit short.

I have also done a little bit more painting in Emily's new room, so its not far off ready. We really need to get her in there as the house is getting more and more cluttered with things that don't have a place. Her new bed is in the box in our hall, along with other bits and pieces for her room and our bedroom is full of homeless stuff too. We really have to do a 'life laundry' and get this place de-cluttered. Its so hard not to keep stuff when you have so many hobbies.

It seems like such a long time

I feel like I have been away from the blogging world for AGES. I am surprised I can even remember how to post an entry. Alas I have been sick for the past couple of weeks and to top it off last week I got a bad dose of the flu, which forced me to do nothing but lie around under a duvet complaining and feeling very sorry for myself. I felt so yuck, I thought I was never going to see the light at the end of the tunnel. But I am feeling considerably better today, although I still feel sicky and very tired, so thats something.

I have just flicked through over 150 of my newsfeeds, as i simply don't have the time or energy to read through them all properly. No doubt I am missing something fantastic somewhere! I am still not feeling in tip top form so I'll not be updating you with all the things on my list (Supper Club recipes, craft night and craft fair results and the two recent packages in the post). Thanks Li Li and Anamaria for my recent packages by the way, I will post about these soon too.

I also need to muster up a lot of energy in order to do anything crafty right now, or anything at all in fact. But hopefully I have been drained of all my creative juices and something will inspire me soon. Right now I am going to concentrate on feeling my jolly old self, take it easy and try to catch up with some domestic chores (it has got quite bad around here and a tidy house is a tidy mind and all that).

Hopefully I'll be back soon, but if there doesn't seem much going on around here you know where I am.
