Viking Festival
My friend Susan, Emily and I had a day out to a local country park (Delamont, Killyleagh near Strangford Lough, for those of you in this part of the world) which was having a Viking Festival today. It was such a great day out, the weather was just lovely and it was very busy. We had a picnic, Emily got her face painted, went on a mini train ride (not very Viking but a lot of fun!) and generally ran around all day full of excitement.
Its such good fun going to things that are a bit different. There was a battle re-enactment, which we caught the end of and a Viking village with what looked like real VIkings (honestly we wondered whether these people actually lived like this in real life!). I walked past one of the Viking settlement tents and a man was taking a bite from a big chunk of meat at one point!
We were hoping to see the longboats but unfortunately that fun is for tomorrow, including the craft fair. If I didn't already have plans for tomorrow I might go back and take a look.
On a different note, W has ordered another camera charger, including spare battery which will be here in about a week. I can't believe how much I rely on the digital camera, I really miss it. He pointed out today that I should've taken my 35mm Lomo, which I haven't used in a very long time and he is quite right. I am so used to digital that I didn't even think of it. I will load in a film and have it ready to go tomorrow!
