Sugarcraft Bee

Last Friday night I met up with my friend Susan and her sister Cathy, to try our hand at making and decorating cupcakes. Cathy is getting married in August and and wants to have a tower of cupcakes for her wedding cake, so we thought we would make a start and get some practice in to see what they might turn out like.
I think we didn't do too badly and even though there were some wonky ones, you don't notice them when they are all bundled together. The idea is probably to intersperse them with some kind of flowers. The night ended up in total hysterics and dilerium as were we making and decorating cakes until well after midnight! Then we got to eat them - YUM!

oooooooohhh! they look so lovely, that one on top especially is such a cute miniature wedding cake, and I love the idea as a wedding cake tower!

They look really great - and you are right - when you are doing a lot of different looking cakes like that you can get away with the odd wonky one. Mind you I can't see that one - did you eat it! :)

I did a cupcake tower (more of a heap really), for Johnny's christening. It went down really well.
I got hold of some great silver liners, which looked good as I'd just opted for white buttercream as a frosting.
Wish I'd thought of it for our wedding.

What a good idea! We very often have cupcakes as well as a big birthday cake because the kids like to decorate them, but these look so gorgeously decorated!

My friend Louise had a tower of cupcakes for her wedding cake and it looked so wonderful. I think your creations are actually pretty fab, and even more charming for being homemade!
lovely! x
